AISI  A2   tool steel  is one of ‘A’ group cold works steel in  ASTM A681  standard.  A2 Tool Steel  is a versatile, air hardening chromium alloy tool steel that replaces  O1  tool steel when safer hardening, less distortion and increased wear resistance are required. AISI type A2 steel is intermediate in wear resistance between O1 oil-hardening tool steel and  D2  high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel. AISI Steel A2 is heat treatable and will offer a hardness in the range 57-62 HRC. ASTM grade A2 steel delivers good toughness with medium wear resistance and is relatively easy to machine. Tool Steels A2 are used in many applications which require good wear resistance as well as good toughness. Characteristics of A2 tool steel include: good machinability, high compressive strength, high dimensional stability after hardening and tempering. Good hardenability, very good non-deforming properties, deep hardening, Good wear...

M2 Tool Steel | 1.3343 | HS-6-5-2C| SKH51 AISI  M2 Tool Steel  is molybdenum based high-speed steel in tungsten–molybdenum series.  HSS  grade steel  M2  is a medium alloyed high speed steel which has good machinability. The H-SS M2 chemical composition gives a good combination of well-balanced toughness, wear resistance and red hardness properties. Widely used for cutting tools such as twist drills, taps, milling cutters, saws, knives etc. Also commonly used in cold work punches and dies and cutting applications involving high speed and light cuts. Grade M2 High Speed Steel is by far the most popular high speed steel replacing high speed steel grade  T1  in most applications because of its superior properties and relative economy. We are one of leading AISI M2 HSS steel supplier and we can offer better quality and M2 alloy steel price for your various applications. 1. Supply Range of M2  tool steel  High Speed M2 Ste...

HOW IS TOOL STEEL MADE?

Image
What is Tool Steel? Tool steel is a type of carbon alloy steel. As you can guess from the name, it is often used to make, modify or repair hand tools or machine dies. Tool steels are notable for their hardness, resistance to abrasion and deformation. They can retain a cutting edge at very high temperatures which is why they are often used in the shaping of other materials through cutting, pressing, coining or extruding. Their resistance to abrasion lends to their use in the production of injection molds. Groups of Tool Steel Tool steels are categorized in six groups. The choice of group depends on factors of strength toughness, surface hardness, shock resistance, working temperature, and cost. The six groups are: Water-hardening Cold-work Shock-resisting High-speed Hot-work Special purpose How is Tool Steel Made? The manufacture of tool steels takes place under carefully controlled conditions to produce the required quality. Tool steel has a carbon content of b...
